Holocaust Memorial Service

On Monday 6th February our school and in particular the year 6 children were very pleased to welcome the Mayor and the Lady Mayoress to our special Holocaust memorial service.

Our year 6 children had been given the opportunity to join in with the Stevenage wide project for year 6 children to write a prayer, a poem or create some artwork about the significance of the Holocaust.

The Mayor and Mayoress were given the task of judging all entries and choose three to win a special prize. Each child in year 6 who entered received a special participation certificate and Tania and Mana won £20 voucher each too.

We are very pleased that our children have been able to be involved in such an important project and to find out more about why we would want to prevent anything of this type ever happening again. This has also fitted nicely with their history topic - WW2.
