Last thoughts

Dear Children, Parents, Staff and Governors,

I just wanted to take a moment to say a final goodbye to you all as I leave my headship role. We have been on a journey together which has involved the school moving into the Good category for Ofsted, has seen us achieve the outstanding marks for both safeguarding and SIAMs (church school inspection). We have also seen a sharp rise in standards especially in EYFS and KS1 and rapidly growing in KS2. We are now an oversubscribed school and once again a school of choice in Stevenage, putting it back in its rightful place. This is testemant to the hard work of my team, our children and everyone invovled in the school. I want to take a moment to thank the team for all their hard work and the children for following the school values so well.

Our school is the second oldest school in Stevenage, having started in 1843 but with the old building burning down in the 1960’s, it has a very long history and a very special place in the hearts and minds of many people in the area.  It is because of this and because of the school team and the wider school community I know that the school will continue to maintain its very high standards and its vision of ‘Inspiring learning to last a lifetime’ next year and beyond.

Also I would like to thank everyone for their very generous gifts for Teasel and myself we have been incredibly spoilt, thank you all.

Some of you have asked what I am doing next, well a number of things really:

Firstly I have trained as a dog trainer and pet nutrionist and now have two businesses to build and look after.  So please do think of me for anything pet related – we will do our best to help.

I will also not be letting go of school completely as I shall be working as an assessor and coach for teachers undertaking middle, senior and headship qualifications with https://www.neon.courses/npqonline/

Of course I will still be seeing many of you all with my parent hat on on the playground.

Have a great summer everyone.
